About the Artist

Orysia Zhukivska  (Irene Taylor) (b. June 23, 1948, Stuttgart) is a Ukrainian-born artist who emigrated to Australia with her family in 1949. Bilingual in Ukrainian and English, she built a lifelong career in education, teaching secondary school mathematics from 1967 to 2007.

Her artistic work reflects a deep connection to heritage, combining precision, balance, and vibrant expression shaped by both her cultural roots and professional life.
